News and Update ... Transvoyeur Charity Auction in Aid of Emergency Department.

The Transvoyeur Charity Auction in Aid of the Emergency Department at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital (Liverpool, England) on Thursday 3rd May 2007 raised more than £1800.

The auction continues online at www.transvoyeur.co.uk allowing local and international interest to buy art until 4th June 2007. It is available to view at the View Two Gallery, Mathew Street, Liverpool, for a further two days and closes Saturday 5th May 2007 (opening times 12.00 pm – 4.00 pm).

All monies raised for the auction are given to the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. The event is supported voluntary by the management group from Transvoyeur Arts Collective (Liverpool, England). It has been sponsored by the View Two Gallery (Ken Martin), C3 Imaging, Rennies Art Supplies, South Bohemia Art Gallery and Art in Liverpool Weblog. Roger Phillips from BBC Radio Merseyside was on board to kindly provide his time free as auctioneer.

A new artist, Laura Lian (International UK Sculptor), has donated work to the fundraiser for the Emergency Department of the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. This is a piece titled, ‘John Lennon New York’ and a bronze sculpture.

This starts at a reserve of £3k, but normally retails in galleries at £6k. One of these limited edition bronzes was auctioned for a previous charity, raised £9k and was bought by Sharon Osbourne.

Lian will further donate a piece to the permanent collection to be presented to the hospital on conclusion of the online auction. This final stage to the fund raiser project will consist of a collection of art work for permanent display in the Emergency Department of the Royal Liverpool University Hospital. There are many other artists who are donating to this final stage from Transvoyeur, Liverpool and internationally.
